smart TVs are the next big thing for smartphone brands and after biggies of the industry such as samsung, sony,Xiaomi, Honor and OnePlus already having unveiled their first smart TVs, Motorola is the next one to join the bandwagon. According to a reliable source, India Today Tech has learnt that Motorola has been working on a smart TV for long and within a few weeks, it is going to launch it in global markets, including India. And before you ask, it will be an Android TV.
India Today tech learnt from its reliable source that Motorola is going to launch a smart TV within a few weeks in India. This is for the first time that Motorola will be launching a TV after being in the smartphone space for decades. We still don't know what Motorola will call this TV but we have some details about its specifications.
Motorola is relying on Google Android TV OS as the software platform for its first smart TV. The Motorola TV will, in fact, use the Android 9 Pie TV OS, which is the latest version of Android TV OS so far.
The exact processor that Motorola is using is still unknown but our source has confirmed that it's a quad-core processor that will be coupled with a Mali 450 GPU for all the graphical processing needs. Chances are that Motorola could be using a MediaTek chipset which is the norm in the smart TV industry. Even OnePlus is using a MediaTek chipset for its first smart TV.
